Tirada vs Patreon

Tirada charges a small fee to send, the money goes to your own Stripe account, and a person confirms every send to your list.
With Tirada you keep between €2,596 (Pro) and €2,836 (Lite) more a year.

Why Tirada
- You keep what you earn. With 500 readers at €5 a month, Patreon takes €250 every month in commission, before its payment processing; on Tirada you pay €13.66 on Lite or €33.66 on Pro, and the rest is yours.
- Your readers pay you, into your own Stripe account. On Patreon the merchant is Patreon: it manages the subscriptions and payment methods, and if you leave, your paying members have to subscribe again somewhere else.
- You decide what your list receives. By default Patreon sends your free members upgrade offers and previews of your locked posts unless you switch them off. On Tirada a person confirms every send in the dashboard.
- Your AI works with you from the €5 plan: it diagnoses deliveries, checks your domain and prepares drafts and sends with the API you approve. Patreon has no MCP, and its API can't create posts or manage subscribers.
- Your readers subscribe with their email, no account needed, and you can import your list by CSV from day one. On Patreon, importing an email list is a beta you have to apply for.
Pricing, in numbers
Patreon doesn't charge for sending: its bill grows with what you earn. For creators who published after 4 August 2025 it takes 10% of every payment, plus its own payment processing. Tirada charges the same whether you earn €100 or €10,000. With 10,000 subscribers and one send a week:
| Paying readers at €5 a month | Monthly revenue | Patreon | Tirada |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | €500 | €50 commission | €13.66 – €33.66 |
| 500 | €2,500 | €250 commission | €13.66 – €33.66 |
| 2,000 | €10,000 | €1,000 commission | €13.66 – €33.66 |
With 10,000 subscribers and one send a week (43,300 emails a month). Patreon: prices and commission as published on 20 October 2026; it also charges its own payment processing, which isn't included. Tirada: Lite to Pro, plan plus €2 per 10,000 emails, excluding VAT, whatever you earn, plus Stripe's fee, which isn't included either. Your own domain on Tirada, €2 more a month, isn't included.
Patreon's 10% costs more than Tirada's Lite plan once you earn about €137 a month (28 readers at €5), and more than Pro from €337 (68 readers). The table leaves out payment processing, which on Patreon goes to Patreon: 3.4% + €0.35 per payment if you're paid in euros, and another 2.5% if the reader pays in a different currency. On Tirada you pay Stripe's fee on your own account. If your page predates August 2025 you may be on an older rate, but you lose it if the page is unpublished, even briefly.
Your AI and your agents
Patreon has no official MCP server, and its developer docs don't mention one. Its API reads your campaign, members, posts and tiers, and lets you create signed webhooks; it can't create posts, edit members or send email. There are third-party MCP servers, such as a community one that only reads with your creator token and another hosted on Pipedream. Neither is Patreon's.
So no agent can send anything to your list through Patreon. Patreon does send on its own: by default it emails your free members previews of your locked posts, and its Autopilot feature, on by default, sends eligible free members discounted upgrade offers, and abandoned-cart emails to people who don't finish paying. You don't confirm each one; you can switch them off.
On Tirada the MCP comes with every plan, Lite included. Your assistant gets nine diagnostic tools (why an email didn't arrive, what your domain is missing, why a send was paused, what happened in an import) plus the API operations you approve, such as preparing a draft or getting a send ready. What it can't do is confirm it: a person always does that in the dashboard. Your readers' emails reach it masked. How to connect it.
When Patreon is the better choice
If you do more than a newsletter, Patreon puts it all in one place: video (up to 100 hours a month with paying fans), audio and podcasts for members, chats, polls, livestreams and a digital product shop. Tirada has no podcast, chat or shop. Because Patreon is the merchant, it handles VAT and sales tax, fraud, retrying failed payments and paying you out in many currencies, so you never run a Stripe account.
Many fans already have a Patreon account with a saved payment method, and its app can bring you new members; Tirada has no discovery network. And if your newsletter is free, Patreon charges nothing: with 1,000 subscribers and one send a week, Tirada Lite is €5.87 a month.
How to move from Patreon
- On Patreon, export your members' emails and status as a CSV from the Relationship Manager. Keep a separate copy of your posts: Tirada imports subscribers, not the post archive.
- On Tirada, import the CSV. You get a report of who got in and why each of the rest didn't.
- Connect your domain to send and publish from it (€2 a month) and your Stripe account to get paid.
- Your paying members can't be moved: Patreon manages their subscriptions and payment methods, and Tirada doesn't take over existing subscriptions either. They have to subscribe again on your Tirada page, so tell them first. If you're on an older Patreon rate, bear in mind that unpublishing your page, even briefly, moves you to 10%.
